Perfect World Shanghai CS2 Major RMRs: Format and Teams
The format for the Shanghai Major’s RMRs remains similar to past events. A total of 56 teams gather in Shanghai, vying for 24 spots at the Major. These spots are allocated based on regional strength, determined by team performances. European teams, traditionally strong, receive 14 spots, with seven for each of their two RMRs. North and South America share seven spots, while Asia has three.
The top eight European RMR teams advance directly to the Elimination Stage, while others begin in the Opening Stage. European and American RMRs utilize a Swiss format, where the top seven progress. The Asia RMR employs a double elimination format to identify the top three.
